JMI and FAI Partnering to Bring First Ethno Camp to North America

JM International (JMI) and FAI are working together to bring the very first Ethno music camp to North America.

Ethno is JM International’s program for folk, world, and traditional music with a thirty-year history that began in Sweden in 1990. Present today in over twenty countries, Ethno engages young musicians (ages 16-30) through a series of international music camps and activities. Ethno is defined by its democratic peer-to-peer learning approach that facilitates and promotes intercultural dialogue in the spirit of generosity, respect, and openness.

Ethno USA is planned to take place in 2020 in the Midwest/Upper Appalachian region and will be the first Ethno in North America. FAI has partnered with JMI to bring Ethno to the US together with local and national stakeholders.

To help bring Ethno USA to life, JMI and FAI are looking for a highly-skilled, “all-round” Ethno USA Project Coordinator to join the Ethno team, working at Folk Alliance International, based out of Kansas City.

This is a multifaceted role for a candidate who has a wide range of expertise to take on all Ethno USA-related project tasks with a high degree of competence.
