Folk Alliance International conducts community outreach during the conference as part of its charitable mission.
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides, “a home away from home for sick children and their families,” providing lodging, meals, activities, and tremendous support to families with prolonged hospital stays. Children’s Mercy Hospital (CMH) is a nationally recognized and award-winning comprehensive pediatric medical center that integrates clinical care, research, and medical education to provide care for patients ages birth to 21.
Each outreach requires a 2-hour time commitment. You can sign up for one or all sessions.

Folk in the Schools, now in its third year, is Folk Alliance’s outreach program whose primary focus of offering Kansas City schools and students the opportunity to interact with national and international folk musicians during the conference. Folk in the Schools’ activities range from acoustic performance in small or large groups, workshops, and one-on-one student interaction.
All Official Showcase Artists are invited to partipate.
